Professional Summary
Chip St. John is a U.S. Army logistics veteran and supply-chain operator with more than twenty years in bulk chemical, energy, and industrial networks. As VP of Operations and Logistics at Merichem, he owned the P&L for multimillion-dollar logistics infrastructure and the full order cycle for hazardous bulk liquids — truck, rail, barge, vessel, and ISO — including ocean imports tied to inland barge and break-bulk export of large equipment modules. In one year he delivered $1.9 million in logistics savings, stood up S&OP, and ran a full ERP implementation as project manager and system administrator. Earlier, he rebuilt procurement and ERP workflows across Vopak’s tank-storage network ($70MM annual spend), cutting approver workflow 60% and invoice exceptions 48%, and built a nationwide logistics and customer-service operation for a $350MM furniture retailer.
